Creating a New Staff Account

Administrators can create new staff accounts in a few quick steps. The system handles account setup, role assignment, and the welcome email automatically — the staff member just needs to set their own password.

Administrator creates the account

Go to Administration → Staff Accounts.

Enter the staff member's email address and choose their role:

  • Teacher
  • Volunteer Teacher
  • Read-only
  • Administrator

The system automatically creates a temporary 14-character password for you, such as ABCDEF-GHIJKL!.

You can:

  • Click Regenerate to create a different password.
  • Click Copy to copy the password.

Then click Create Account.

The system sets everything up

Once you create the account, the system automatically:

  • Adds the staff member to the list of people allowed to sign in.
  • Creates their account.
  • Gives them the role you selected.
  • Records the account creation in the system's activity history.
  • Sends the staff member an email with instructions for setting their password.

You don't need to do any of these steps yourself.

The staff member receives an email

The staff member receives an email from New Neighbor Project Attendance using the application's custom email address.

The email includes:

  • A welcome message.
  • A Set Your Password link.

The link takes them to the Set Your Password page.

The staff member creates their password

  • The staff member clicks Set Your Password.
  • They enter and confirm their own password.
  • Once they save it, they can sign in to NNP Attendance using their email address and new password.

If the staff member doesn't receive the email

There are two ways an administrator can help:

Resend the invitation

Go to the staff member's account and select Resend Invite.

Provide the temporary password

The temporary password is also shown when the account is created and can be copied using the Copy button. The administrator can provide it directly to the staff member if necessary.
