Reports in NNP Attendance

The Reports section helps you understand whether attendance is being recorded, how regularly students are attending, and whether students are improving on their assessments.

Reports are based on the semester selected at the top of the page. Changing the semester updates the attendance, assessment, student, and contribution information shown below.

What you can see depends on your role and the classes assigned to you.

Choosing a Semester

Use the semester selector at the top of the Reports page to choose the reporting period.

All reports and summaries on the page update to reflect the selected semester.

Administrators

Reports for Administrators

Administrators and Developers can see program-wide reporting across all classes.

Attendance

The Attendance report shows:

  • Overall semester attendance
  • Attendance by class
  • Scheduled sessions that still need attendance recorded
  • Attendance information for individual students

The system determines the sessions that are expected for each class based on the class meeting schedule, semester dates, and holidays. It then compares those expected sessions with attendance that has been submitted.

Submissions

The Submissions report helps administrators answer:

“Has attendance been entered?”

It shows attendance submissions across all classes for the selected semester.

Classes are organized by month, and each scheduled session shows whether attendance has been submitted or is still missing.

This makes it easier to identify sessions that still need attention.

Students

The Students view provides student-level reporting across the program, including attendance and other available student information.

Executive Report

The Executive Report provides a program-wide summary that can be used for organizational reporting, board updates, or funder reporting.

It includes information such as:

  • Enrollment trends
  • Attendance
  • Assessment outcomes

Administrators can also use the available export controls to download report information.

Teachers

Reports for Teachers and Volunteer Teachers

Teachers and Volunteer Teachers see reporting for only the classes assigned to them.

The Reports page includes four main areas:

Attendance

See attendance for your assigned classes, including:

  • Semester attendance
  • Attendance by class
  • Attendance information for individual students

Assessment Outcomes

See pre-test and post-test results for students in your assigned classes.

The report includes:

  • Number of students assessed
  • Average pre-test score
  • Average post-test score
  • Average improvement
  • Number of students who improved
  • Results by class
  • Individual student results

When both scores are available, improvement is calculated based on the change from the pre-test score to the post-test score.

My Students

The My Students view provides student-level information for your assigned classes.

For each student, you can see:

  • Number of sessions attended
  • Total sessions available to the student
  • Attendance progress
  • Attendance dates
  • Contribution status

Contribution information includes:

  • Class Fee
  • Textbook
  • Waiver

Contribution status is based on the student’s recorded information. A waiver is shown as Requested or Not requested and is not inferred from payment amounts.

Contact List

The Contact List provides contact information for students in your assigned classes.

It can include:

  • Student name
  • Class
  • Email
  • Phone

When information has not been provided, the report displays Not provided.

My Classes Summary

Teachers and Volunteer Teachers also see a My Classes summary below the semester selector.

The summary shows:

  • Assigned classes
  • Enrolled students
  • Overall attendance
  • Past sessions that still need attendance recorded

If a past session is missing attendance, the number is clickable so you can go directly to that session and submit attendance.

How Attendance Is Calculated

NNP Attendance uses the student’s enrollment period when calculating attendance.

Attendance is counted only for sessions that fall within the student’s:

Enrollment date → Withdrawal date

if a withdrawal date is recorded.

Holidays are excluded from expected sessions.

This means attendance percentages are based on the sessions the student was actually expected to attend rather than every session offered by the class.

Contribution Status

Contribution statuses shown in Reports are calculated from the available records rather than stored as a separate status.

Class Fee

  • $40 or more: Paid
  • More than $0 and less than $40: Partial
  • $0 or no record: Not recorded

Waiver

Waiver status is shown as:

  • Requested
  • Not requested

A waiver status is never inferred from the amount a student has paid.
